Stages of Digital Twin evolution. 

According to the Verdantix maturity model, there are five stages of digital twin evolution. Essentially, the more mature the twin is, the more valuable it becomes.

1. Descriptive Twin

Acting as a foundation for a facility’s data, all of the building-related information is consolidated into a virtual model which accurately reflects its real-world structure.

2. Informative twin

This goes beyond housing the building’s information, it connects to IOT and sensor data giving you complete visibility of how your assets, spaces, and systems are operating together.

3. Predictive twin

A digital twin can use its historical data to run analytics and predict trends—enabling the operator to take a more proactive approach, preempting issues before they arise.

4. Comprehensive twin

As the digital twin continues to evolve, real-time simulation for future “what-if” scenarios become possible. At this stage, the insights gained are truly invaluable for the efficient running of a facility.

5. Autonomous twin

The ultimate business value comes at this final stage of maturity. The twin will have the data and processes established to automatically take action based on the insights it delivers.

How to Create a Digital Twin.

Building and scaling a Digital Twin requires a 5-step approach: creating a blueprint, capturing the space, building the initial digital twin and data model, then boosting capabilities.

Digital twins 3d models can be created from variety of plans or scans. Anacle has developed a 2.5D Space Editor that allows users to update the space of your building in a quick and easy way. With Autocad files, the 2.5D space can be
created within minutes and then tagged to get the metrics from the system.

Scan to CAD plan: 

Schematic Scan to Plan: 
Raster (image) schematic plans created from sectioned views of the point cloud. This is a low-cost way to visualize the layout of a space, and an ideal option for projects that don’t require scaled CAD plans.

Architectural Scan to Plan: 
2D AutoCAD AIA-compliant architectural drawings, to scale and accurate to ¼” to ⅝” (USIBD LOA30). Great for space planning, rentable area calculations, renovation planning, and facilities management scenarios.

Scan to BIM:
Scanning pros can come to your site and perform 3D Laser Scanning with powerful  Geosystems scanners. Anacle will use point cloud data to create an Autodesk Revit model.

Architectural Scan to BIM:
Suitable for use in subsequent design work by an architectural firm or in facilities management platforms.

Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Scan to BIM:
Suitable for retrofit or pre-renovation planning, or for pipe, ducting, and conduit routing and coordination.

Other ways to capture space range from 3D Laser Scanning and Virtual Walkthroughs, to Drone and UAV or Mesh Models. All can be layered into a digital twin.
